Antique Feraghan Sarouk Rug

SKU : 10244, 24732i

This antique Feraghan Sarouk Rug was constructed circa 1880 and is in excellent condition. It was woven in or around the village of Sarouk (Saroogh) north of the city of Arak formerly known as Sultan Abad. Feraghans are different from other Sarouks because they are typically a much finer weave allowing for a more intricate design. Feraghans are also known for their use of vibrant indigo and pale greens dyes.

CONDITION: Excellent condition for its age. Side cords have been replaced and new hand woven fringes. Some minor re-weaving in the corners.
